Sankalp Reddy scored a resounding hit with Ghazi on his debut. The talented filmmaker picked a space thriller as his second attempt. Titled Antariksham, this film hit the theaters today. Scroll down to check whether the film manages to keep the viewers engaged or not.

An Indian satellite named Mihira goes out of control and it is on its way of colliding with other countries satellite which goes in a chain reaction and which in turn results for communication blackout throughout the world. To prevent this, Indian Space Center sends four people on a manned mission which include Dev (Varun Tej) who has a sad past with this own satellite Viprayaan. They successfully repair Mihira and prevent the damage and then Dev start taking his own decisions to fix Viprayaan which is out of the plan and they don’t even have the required specifications to do so. How Dev convinced all his other astronauts and accomplished his mission?

Varun Tej did a nice job in the role of Dev. He is a perfect fit for the role and carried that melancholic look throughout the movie. Lavanya Tripati shines in her small yet pivotal role. Aditi Rao Hydari looks gorgeous and performed well in her role.

Satya Dev has done good work in his twin roles as Aditya and Karan. Srinivas Avasarala and Rahman did well in their roles. Pavani Gangireddy and Kunal Kaushik are fine.

All the other actors did well in their roles.

Plus Points:

Actors performances
New kind of film
Music by Prasanth Vihari

Minus Points:

Over the top drama

Technical Aspects:

Antariksham banks big on special effects and boy did the team deliver. The director, Sankalp Reddy gets the best-possible output in this department. However, he should have concentrated more on the core plot rather than the visual grandeur. Nevertheless, he made a decent attempt.

Music and background score are adequate. The space thriller vibe has been carried well in the second half. Camera works are really good and give an authentic feel to the viewers.

A lot of effort has been put into the art department and they succeed big time. They have picked all the right physical properties to give a realistic setup to the satellite.

On the whole, the entire team of Antariksham has put in a lot of hard work and that is very much evident on the big screen. It does not have any commercial elements but because of the sheer imagination of the director, this film will go down as a good attempt in Tollywood. However, the overall execution is not that engaging and this makes the film a partly engaging watch this weekend.
