The demonetization move of the govt. was welcomed with a big heart by the people despite the several hardships in store but the same public is gradually getting impatient with each passing day especially when the failures of the govt. and the RBI are getting exposed one by one.
It's been about one and a half month since demonetization hit the nation and the government is yet to meet the cash needs of public. The new Rs 2000 currency notes somehow landed in the hands of most people but they are of no use as breaking the highest denomination note has become the utmost challenge for those possessing it. In view of this, the release of Rs 500 currency note has become highly awaited.
After making people wait for more than a month, the RBI has reportedly sped up the printing process and started disbursing the new second highest denomination in parts of the country. Well, the joy of people who received these new Rs 500 notes proved to be short lived as within days of possessing it, various complaints on its printing started getting reported.
When some complained that two versions of new Rs 500 notes were given to them, the RBI clarified that both will be legal tender. Now, people are reporting that the Rs. 500 note began leaking ink at the serial number slot. People are now storming banks to replace these smudged notes.
The bank officials cited the hastened process in printing the notes as the reason for the ink leak and other mistakes.
