Business magnet and Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited Mukesh Ambani's meeting with CM Chandrababu Naidu has become a great success as the former agreed to set up Reliance Telecommunication's huge plant near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
Mukesh has agreed to start Jio's massive manufacturing unit in Sri City SEZ in Chittoor district, on NH16 highway and is just 55 km away from North Chennai. The Jio manufacturing unit, with a capacity of manufacturing of 10 Lakh Jio Mobiles per day, would be set up in a sprawling 250 acres. The manufacturing includes Jio phone sets, TVs, Set Of Boxes, chip designs and battery production.
This is going to be the first of its kind Reliance Manufacturing Plant outside Mumbai.
Naidu Impresses Mukesh
Apparently, Mukesh Ambani was very much impressed with the performance of Chandrababu Naidu's government by using advanced technology. The RTGS - Real Time Governance System, which is Asia's biggest, adopted by AP government has surprised Mukesh who went onto describe it as never-seen-before neither in Corporate nor in Government. Mukesh even opined that AP could outsource this RTGS to other states, corporate.
Mukesh showered praises on Chandrababu for bringing rapid changes in the governance using advanced technology.
Mukesh Recalls Dhirubhai-Naidu's Association
Mukesh Ambani has recalled his legendary father Dhirubhai and his bond with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. Stating a classic example of Chandrababu's "visionary", Mukesh recalled how Naidu told Dhirubhai in 1999 about the impending Telecommunications revolution. Apparently, Naidu had told Dhirubhai Ambani that "Future belongs to Telecommunications" and "Data Usage" that in turn led Dhirubhai to foray into Telecommunications sector.
Great Employment Opportunity
The upcoming Jio Manufacturing Unit in Tirupati is expected to be a great employment opportunity for many youths.
On the whole, the coming Jio Plant in AP is a huge boost, fillip to the investments of AP. At a time, the state is battling through several odds and is awaiting Centre's help, Naidu's master plan to rope in Reliance on board is a laudable move. Already major manufacturing automobile firms such as Kia, Toyota have come forward to set up their units in AP.
